Experience the summer solstice as a celebration of new energy and abundance with sweeping performances at sunrise and sunset of the lyrical gem Canto Ostinato, Simeon ten Holt's landmark of Dutch minimalism, in a world-premiere arrangement created by Metropolis Ensemble with Grammy-nominated Sandbox Percussion and musician/composer Erik Hall for over 50 percussionists (from the Mannes School of Music at The New School) and instrumentalists, for the culmination of Biophony, a four-season collaboration between Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Metropolis Ensemble. Produced by artistic director Andrew Cyr in collaboration with composers/arrangers Benjamin Wallace, Ledah Finck, and David Leon.
